The work in this thesis represents a culmination of two years of research. It reports on a) juridical challenges that the use of artificial intelligence and automation within the journalism and big media landscape presents to courts in the context of First Amendment litigation and intellectual property matters, and b) how AI will test the "Fourth Estate’s" ability to endure emerging technological changes.
